It is going to be a fight to finish as visiting Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, lock horns with host, Enyimba International FC of Aba.

The battle ground for the NPFL matchday five showdown, in which the deternined Oluyole Warriors, will aim at shooting down the Peoples Elephants, is the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.

This is a clash between two teams with great achievements when it comes to the round leather game in the country.

While Shooting Stars hiold the record of being the first club to win a continental trophy for Nigeria, having won the African Cup Winners Cup in 1976, Enyimba, on the other hand, remain the first and only club to have won the prestigious CAF Champions league for the country.

These, in addition to the past engagements between both sides and their performances in the current season, point to a very excrutiating duel come Sunday.

Both sides go into this match with contrasting results, with 3SC winning their matchday four fixture, 1-0 against Katsina United in Ibadan, while Enyimba got dazed 2-0 away to Kano Pillars.

One point is the difference between both teams on the log, with Enyimba having six points to place nine, while the coach Edith Agoye tutored 3SC, have five points and are ocuppying the 12th position, gping into this encounter.

The win over Katsina United, is a morale booster for the Ibadan soccer lords, as they hope to beat Enyimba at their backyard, just like Rivers United did to the Peoples Elephants, penultimate Sunday.

"It is not going to be an easy match but we are fully ready to deliver. Facing a team that lost two matches back to back, including one on their home soil will definitely be difficult, but we are determined to prove doubting Thomasses wrong by getting something positive from this game", declared 3SC striker, Ebenezer Odeyemi, who once featured for the Peoples' Elephants.

Coach Finidi George and his lads will definitely be under pressure to get back to winning ways with this tie but that may be the tonic, needed by the Warriors to shoot down the Elephants.

The last league game between both sides was in  2017, precisely May 1, when 3SC held Enyimba to a nil nil draw, while the Warriors' last visit to the Enyimba International Stadium, ended on a positive note via a 3-2 win over Abia Comets, in the botched 2019 season of the NNL.
