Shooting Stars head coach Olumide Agoye said he was relieved to see his side win 1-0 against Katsina United on Sunday and admitted several of his players rose up to the challenge.

The Oluyole Warriors prevailed courtesy of a 63rd-minute effort by new signing Wasiu Alalade at the Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

Agoye's side now have five points in four matches after losing their last outing to Lobi Stars of Makurdi by 2-1.

"Today, we were able to posses the ball, be in control, and gradually the boys are settling down to playing in the NPFL and we are very happy as well that we created chances and score one of them."

Speaking about the officiating since the commencement of the NPFL 2021/2022 season, Agoye rated NPFL match officials high.

As far as I'm concern and you can see through the results people get from matches, if you are ready, no more home advantage in Nigeria football. Today, they could have gotten an equalizer through the error from our goalkeeper. In Lobi we could have won the game but lost due to concentration, anybody can win any where."

On what gave his side the much needed victory against Katsina United. Agoye explained that his boys had determined to gave all thier best before the match.

"Before the match, my players had determined to get the maximum points, I'm happy for the drive Wasiu Alalade and Ebenezer Odeyemi brought in at the attack but I can tell you if Wasiu didn't score, another player will score."

Agoye also assured that Shooting Stars will not disappoint her numerous fans as the league progresses.

  1. The boys proved they were up to the task right from the blast of the whistle. 3SC number 10 was a delight to watch in the midfield. The flexibility of Wasiu Alalade on introduction added much impetus to Shooting Stars attack.
There is no doubt the team would improve as the season progresses.
    Up Shooting!
