Shooting Stars ground out a 1-0 win over the weekend at Teslim Balogun stadium, Lagos with more deep-lying defensive resolve than we’re used to seeing from the Oluyole Warriors.

Akilu Mohammed's 6th minute goal at TBS helped Shooting Stars secured thier first away victory over struggling Mountain of Fire FC (MFM) at the match 9 of the Nigeria Professional Football League. Thier first away win at the elite league since 2016 and Edith Agoye admitted solid preparation helped his side in the vital win.

"We're very happy, it is never too late; it's a good one for the club, coaches and player, and the fans as well. We're very happy that tactically we are there, we understand how MFM wanted to play, so we it is important we prepare, we did our preparation very well. and it's important for the players to interpret how we wanted to play and we did just that."

"We are happy we score early and created some chances although we couldn't keep the game up but we are satisfied we were able to hold to the one goal lead."

Shooting Stars for the first time this season had a back to back win, a dramatic come against Kwara United last Wednesday and victory over MFM could be extended this midweek when they host Heartland FC at the Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan. 3SC now occupy 12th position on the log after thier recent two wins.
