With the absence of Gbenga Ogunbote at the technical area, Head Coach Abimbola Lawal led the team to a 3-0 second half win as Anthony Okachi grabbed a brace alongside Alabi Apatapiti. Abimbola Lawal hailed an "important" 3-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes, but said his side must not look too far ahead. "There is nothing much in that, it is a pre-season game, we don't need to be happy too much but we need to improve and do more. It is good the boys are perfecting our techniques, we also need to work more mostly in our attack." He said.

Niger Tornadoes under Abubakar Bala are presently in the South West, Nigeria for a pre-season tour, and will also be in Sagamu and Ikenne this week as they engage Remo Stars and FC Ebedei in another friendlies. Asiwaju Seun Fakorede, the State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, disclosed during a news conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) press centre on Wednesday in Ibadan.
