Kabirat, 17, while representing Oyo state in previous table tennis competitions had won both gold and silver medals for Oyo state at the cadet and senior categories before her latest feat in Togo. Although, she lost at the singles event to her Ghanaian counterpart at the quarter final stage by 3-2. She was amongst the athletes that represented Nigeria and won gold medal at the competition. Meanwhile, Oyo state commissioner for Youth and Sports Miss Wasilat Adegoke has congratulated the gold medalist for her outstanding and laudable performance in Togo she also extended her congratulatory message to other athletes that represented Nigeria after winning three (3) gold medals and two (2) silver at the concluded ITTF Championship.

The Sports Manager and Head Coach, Ilaji football club, Babatunde Odubola 'Zico', said the decision became necessary after it was discovered that players yearning to join new Oyo State Federation Cup Champions have been misinformed. According to Zico, registration fees is pegged at ten thousand, seven hundred naira [N10,700] while Academy and Accommodation fees are N150,000.00 and N300,000.00 respectively with a total of four hundred and sixty thousand naira only [N460,700.00].
