Finidi George said victory against Shooting Stars felt like "a big three points" as Enyimba's back to back defeats at Aba and Kano in the Nigeria Professional Football League came to an end.

Emmanuel Godwin's stunning late strike secured a much-needed 1-0 win for the people's elephant, ending a worrying streak of two league defeats at matchday three and four.

The hosts suffered a defeat against Rivers United at Aba stadium and later lost 2-0 to Kano Pillars within a week but Finidi George said a win over the Oluyole Warriors was a big relieved from the fans and thier position on the league standings.

Finidi was visibly delighted when the winner was scored and did not understate the importance of the victory.

"I must commend the boys after losing two games, coming back at home - it's going to be a tensed game and nobody want to make mistake at home because the fans will be on you. We did well, the goal didn't come in the first half, may be if we had scored, we would have better edge to play our football in the second half. I think the boys gave good accounts of themselves. 3SC came for draw but we score."

The Enyimba boss also defended his tactics and the team scoring form; "We keep working and I can assure you that the goals will come. We didn't score two or three but I'm happy there is calmness in the team because the team is nervous but this victory will give us a boost and we'll work on our shooting ability and during the season , there will be a game where we will score three to four goals. The most important this is the three points which we've acquired."
