Shooting Stars players must not allow their focus to slip after Wednesday's long-awaited win, according to the Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Asiwaju Seun Fakorede.

The young sports boss said the win over Kwara united was a long awaited moment that fans, and all lovers of shooting stars have been waiting to see - the club's first win at home with two goals despite being a goal down - and Fakorede said the squad have to ensure the "new fighting spirit and determination" must continue as they try to fight their way out of the relegation zone.

"This is just the beginning, and it shows we need to fight better, today's match is relatively better than our previous matches. This is not the best, we would still do more by the special grace of God."

Surprisingly, during the match, Ibadan fans
booed every 3SC move and applauded those of their much fitter opponents when they were a goal down and Fakorede has simple message for the fans.

"I want to appreciate thier supports since the league started. The victory today shows it is not over. We need to be devote followers and fans to this club. Whenever I go around, I tell people Shooting Stars are not club, it like a religion and people are fanatics about what happen within and outside the team. "

"This is the time our team needs us more than ever before, I told them at the dressing room that we need to gain back the fans' confidence and we should honour the late general manager with this match and other matches ahead. Our goal is to finish at the top and by the special grace of God, we shall achieve this.

Revealing his thoughts when the team were a goal down, Fakorede replied OyoSportsNews.

"For those that knows me, I've been standing whenever this team play matches to ensuring everything is perfect. Anybody else could have left the stadium, but I want to encourage our fans and be a model to them."

Shooting Stars next match is against MFM in Lagos this weekend.
