Shooting Stars defender Augustine Bafan has suffered a minor kneel injury that will leave the former Niger Tornadoes on the sidelines for the forseeable future, OyoSportsNews understands.

The Jersey No 14 right back only managed 31 minutes of action in Sunday's 1-0 defeat with Enyimba at the Nigeria Professional Football League matchday five, coming off with a fresh injury concern for Edith Agoye to contend with.

As it stands, Bafan is the only 3SC player on injury list as Okechukwu Johnson returned to training after six weeks out. According to shooting stars team manager, Dimeji Lawal, the right back who can also operate as wing-backs will be out of action for a period of time after it was revealed that his injury was minor.

"He suffered a minor injury on the kneel, we can't actually call it ligament but it was minor. He is a fine player with a brighter future, he will definitely be missed but we have another relaible and dependable replacement for any matches; any day.

Augustine Bafan was replaced at the 32nd minutes for Ghali Falke, who also rose to the occasion and performed very well. After 84th minute of action, shooting stars finally lost to Enyimba by alone goal.

The Oluyole Warriors will tomorrow host the Akure Gunners in the matchday six fixture at the Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan. Time is 4pm.
