Balogun, 70, died Thursday night after a long battle with an undisclosed illness. OyoSportsNews gathered that state government, friends, family and players were concerned with Balogun's health since the team got promoted to the elite league. However, as God may have it, Balogun was reported to have succumbed to death after several efforts made even the professional medical practitioners.

The state FA at a condolence visit to Balogun's house situated at Mowe along Lagos-Ibadan expressway expressed thier feelings and how the former Dolphin FC team manager helped shooting stars with their recent promotion ticket which was achieved September 2021.

"What else can we say? God giveth and taketh. He fought so hard but God has called him to rest. He was a brother, a football administrator  per-excellence. As we said in our release yesterday. He knew the nitty gritty of nigeroa football and when it comes to building good relationship, advice, prayer, keeping watch on football development, and how football should be both locally and internationally, Mr Balogun is the best."

"We are here today to commiserate with the family, and ask for date for fridau prayer arrangements and we pray that God in His infinite mercy grant him Aljana Fridau. Nigeria and even Shooting Stars will find it hard to replace him. He was a man of many achievements, and model to watch and emulate."
