Oyo state commissioner for youth and sports, Hon Asiwaju Seun Fakorede has dismissed reports that the state governor, Engr Seyi Makinde is underfunding Shooting Stars after the team got promotion ticket to the elite league.

OyoSportsNews in an interview with the sports boss shortly after Shooting Stars disappointing home draw against Sunshine Stars said Shooting Stars management and technical crew have enjoyed adequate funding during their stay at the Nigeria National League and immediately they got promotion ticket to the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Asked if funding could be responsible for Shooting Stars lackluster performance, Fakorede replied;

"The state governor has made it clear, fund is not the problem, he told them publicly to see him for financial assistant concerning their recruitment and other logistics. He's ready to do it even from his personal purse because he has done it and will continue to do it. 3SC are not underfunded at all, we are not starving them of funds. Very soon, we shall decide what is next concerning thier performance, this is not the best time for Shooting Stars and our fans."

Fakorede also said the coaches have been given free hands to recruit and perform their duties professionally. So; no room for excuse and failure.
