Katsina United Head Coach Azeez Mohammed has blamed fatigue and injuries for his side 1-0 defeat to Shooting Stars on Sunday.

The Changi Boys were pipped 1-0 by Shooting Stars in the Nigeria Professional Football League matchday four and things went from bad to worse as they have been unable to pick point (s) on the road after two away matches.

After many attempts at the first half, Wasiu Alalade fired home Shooting Stars goal after he was brought in to replace Olatunji Damilare at the 62nd minute.

Speaking to newsmen after the match, Azeez Mohammed blamed the defeat on injuries and fatigue but believed his players are gelling well.

"I think our boys played good today just some individual mistakes that gave them the goal, we will still go back and continue from where we stopped. We have injury problem in the team, Rasheed just played his second match and we are having new players, the boys are improving."

Reacting on his team low performance especially at the second half, Azeez Mohammed shifted blame on the fatigue caused by the distance from Katsina to Ibadan. "The distance from Katsina to ibadan can affect any team, it's not easy for a player to give you high intense 90 minutes. We came through road and this is what we face in football, The fatigue hold the players down in the second half, sometimes they may be slow at the first half and pick up at the second half, when I brought in two players, the game changed but the result had favoured the home team."

Azeez Mohammed, a former Hila Al-Fasher and Merreikh Port Sudan FC both in Sudan also commended Shooting Stars performance.
