3SC THRILL IBADAN WITH HISTORIC ROAD PARADE AHEAD NEW NPFL26 SEASON
By Oluseyi Adedire
Ibadan came alive on Tuesday as players, officials, and supporters of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) staged a colorful Road Parade to herald the start of the 2025/26 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, kicking off this weekend, August 22.
The historic parade, the first of its kind in the club’s illustrious history, departed from the iconic Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, and snaked through major streets of Ibadan. It was a spectacle of colours, sounds, and passion as trumpets, vuvuzelas, and talking drums echoed the pride of Oluyole Warriors across the ancient city.
Unlike the traditional trophy parades reserved for champions, this initiative was designed to strengthen the bond between the club and its ever-passionate fan base. It offered supporters, both at home and abroad, an opportunity to feel connected, identify with their beloved players, and rally behind the team ahead of the new campaign.
The parade reflects the ongoing transformation within the club under the visionary leadership of Chairman Hon. Taiwo Lekan-Salami. Since his appointment, he has worked tirelessly to reposition Shooting Stars as a true community club, bridging the gap between the terraces and the pitch, and restoring the age-old bond between the team and its teeming supporters.
Fans and well-wishers across Nigeria and the diaspora have been hailed for their unflinching loyalty to the club through thick and thin. The management reaffirmed its commitment to making 3SC not just a football club but a family that unites people through the beautiful game.
As the Oluyole Warriors march into a fresh season, hopes are high that the renewed spirit of togetherness and the support of millions of fans worldwide will propel the team to glory.
