A Shooting Stars UK based fan, Akande Olaniyi Ajorosun has come to the defence of under-fire Shooting Stars gaffer, Edith Olumide Agoye - comparing his situation to the era of Festus Allen at the club.

Agoye is currently under pressure at 3SC having drooped points at home and lost to Niger Tornadoes last Wednesday matchday seven fixture.

However, 3SC Matchday 8 fixture against Kwara United was postponed by the League Management Company in honour of thier former general manager, Rasheed Balogun who died last Thursday night. The match will now hold tomorrow, Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

The 2-2 home draw against Sunshine Stars of Akure on the 16th of January didn't go well with the fans and it was compounded by the 2-0 loss to Tornadoes on Wednesday, 19th January and Ajorosun had spoken in favour of Agoye and his entire technical team.

He told OyoSportsNews: “I think he [Agoye] has done very well, which everybody acknowledges. People should remember the unbeaten run three years ago before the league was cancelled due to COVID-19, he continued with another unbeaten last season at the NNL and gave us the promotion at Enugu super 8."

“Allen experienced same situation at 3SC in professional league, he was suspended and later sacked but it doesn't solve the problem back then. Ayoye and his team gave us promotion ticket after four years, he's capable of doing this job. He need more time as this particular period and we should also give him support. It is very wrong to condemn him totally."

"The state Governor said it last year that despite people wanted thier sack, he left them because of the believe he had in them. Now that they are not doing well, we should provide them all necessary support."

Speaking on the players' commitments and experience at the NPFL. Ajorosun, again, call for calm.

"He recruited these players, he knows their potentials, strengths and weaknesses. The team need time to gel, I can assure you this team will start wining." He concluded.
