In an election conducted last week across various zones of state (Ibadan, Ibarapa, Ogbomoso, Oyo and Oke Ogun). Barrister Rotimi Alli, the incumbent chairman of Ibadan Local Football Council who also doubles as the Mogaji of Ile Alli Balogun Oja'ba Ibadan was unopposed but still had to satisfy the statutory requirement of two-third ‘yes’ vote of the delegates. OYO FEMALE WRESTLING ATHLETE WINS GOLD AT AFRICAN CHAMPIONSHIP

The 2023 Senior, Junior and Cadet African Wrestling Championship is the 38th edition of African Wrestling Championship of combined event that took place in the Hammarnet Indoor Sports Hall. Earlier, the 21 year old Wrestling Champion won Silver medal in the last 2022 National Sports Festival held in Asaba. She participated in the 50 kg female wrestling category and also clinched Gold medal in the 53kg female Wrestling in the national wrestling at the National Wrestling Federation invitational held in Bayelsa State April 2023. During the trial competitions, Team Nigeria secured the overall female category with six Gold and four silver medals. The 2023 World Wrestling Championshps will be held from 16 to 24 September 2023 Belgrade, Serbia.
