OYOKUN 2021: Wesley Ambassadors Emerge New Champion

Wesley Ambassadors All stars have emerged the new champion of the fourth edition of the first and ever Oyo state adult football competition tagged Oyokun Diplomatic Football Championship. The Elekuro based team defeated United Professionals by alone goal courtesy of Fadaiya's solo kick at the 29th minutes. Earlier before the final match, Urban Day All Stars also pipped Ibadan City All Stars (ICAS) by 1-0 at the loosers final. With this result, Wesley Ambassadors have ended Pace setters' three years back to back champion as the defending champion. Also at the final event, awards for recognition were given to notable sports lovers in Oyo state. CEO of Stone Cafe, Asiwaju Segun Olalere was decorated as the Chief Patron while Engr Ayo Adeniji of AY Farms and Ambassador Romoke Ayinde, the CEO of Kayromlee Gym and fitness centre were also decorated as the Patron and Chief Matron respectively. Oyokun Diplomatic Football Championship has concluded arrangements to decorate Asiwaju Segun Olalere of Stone Cafe, CEO of Kayromlee Gym and Fitness Centre, Ambassador Romoke Ayinde, CEO AY Farms, Hon Ayo Adeniji and its Chief Patron, Chief Matron and Patron. The first and only adult football championship is expected to hold it season four final match this weekend at the Awo football pitch, University of Ibadan. Speaking to newsmen on Friday, Chairman Splendid Media Concept, Obadare Oladosu hinted that the decision to award Amb Romoke Ayinde as the Chief Matron was geared towards her tremendous contribution to the development of sport in Oyo state and beyond. Oba Sports as fondly called listed Amb Ayinde's efforts so far in the state. Amongst her achievements are RACBAR Academy, Squash and Gym Centre, swimming pool. United Professionals FC and Wesley Ambassadors will meet in the 2021 Oyokun Diplomatic Football Championship final. Take a look at their runs to the title match and their key players for the September 12 bout at the Awo football pitch, University of Ibadan. A loaded team that’s rarely had to exit second gear (United Professionals), and another that expended more energy than anyone in the tournament (Wesley Ambassadors), will meet for the season four Oyokun Diplomatic Football championship. The matchup was set last month as Wesley Ambassadors outlasted Urban Day All Stars 7-6 on penalty shoot-out after 1-1 regulation time. Debutant United Professionals were never a favourite before the tournament but this may change on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at the Awo football pitch, University of Ibadan.
