PLATEAU REFEREES COUNCIL EDUCATES PLATEAU UNITED ON LATEST LAW OF THE GAME

Barely forty eight hours to the kick off of the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL , the Plateau State Referees Council has had an interactive session with players and coaches of Plateau United Football Club of Jos ahead of their first encounter against Niger Tornadoes of Minna this Sunday.
Training Officer of the Plateau State Referees Council, PRA, Austin Eyerole said the essence of the interactive session is to acquaint the players on the new rules of the game as the NPFL kicks off thi s weekend across the country.
Eyerole who was accompanied by the Secretary of the PRA , Eunice Amallam, explained that the interactive session became necessary in order to brief the players on what to expect from referees in the new season and the need to avoid unnecessary cautious can be inimical to the team's collective aspirations.
"Players need to guard against unnecessary infringements which may results to caution and sending off that can deny the team victory in crucial matches.
He stated that discipline is the foundation of attaining success and as such any team that intends to do well in the upcoming session, must guard against getting into the Referees book so as to achieve their ambition.
The Training Officer noted that ignorance is not an excuse and the referees will apply the law of the game in all situation and advised the players to avoid any situation that will see them questioning the arbiter's decision.
In a remark, Technical Adviser of the Club, Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu who was overwhelmed with the session, expressed gratitude to the Plateau Referees Council for taking time off their tide schedules to brief the players on the new rules of the game and assured that his team will respect the rules of the game as they compete favourably with other teams.

The interactive session featured the offside rule, yellow card , time wasting , accidental handball and time wasting as well as a question and answer session.
Plateau United Football Club will face newly promoted side, Niger Tornadoes of Minna in their league opener slated for this Sunday.
