CCC REHOBOTH WINS SOLAT TELECOMS XMAS FOOTBALL TOURNEY

It was a best of grassroots football actions at railways football field in Ibadan on Boxing Day when two faith based football teams CCC Rehoboth and Shafaudeen Patriots locked horns at the final of the 2021 Solat Telecoms Xmas Football tournament organized by Grassroots Football Talents Developers Association of Nigeria, (GRAFTADEAN).
The Celestial Church football team at the end of the match defeated the Islamic team with two goals to one to claim the five hundred thousand naira star prize while the runners-up got three hundred thousand, while the second runners-up, Debos Motors FC received two hundred cash prizes.
The CEO of Solat Telecoms, the firm that powered the event, Ganiyu Hammed in his speech said he’s always delighted to invest into the promotion of grassroots football in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State because he had once played grassroots football believing he could make a career out of it.
“I’m always happy to support grassroots football because I was also once a grassroots football player, but apart from that, we are doing this as a way of giving back to the society, which is in line with the corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy of our firm.
“Without CSR, there would likely be less concern for protecting the environment, helping those in need, or supporting local communities. So it is a good practice for businesses and individuals to incorporate CSR initiatives into their plans to cultivate positive influences on society as a whole”, said Solat boss.
The man of God, also the Shepherd in-charge of Celestial Church of Christ, Rehoboth Parish, Prophet Dr. David Olusola Tomori that owns the victorious team in his remark with the sporting press after cup final said he has also played grassroots football in the past but it was God that ministered to him to establish the football team seven years ago.
He however commended the organizer of the tournament, GRAFTADEAN over continual efforts to develop grassroots football in Ibadan and Oyo State and for putting up a free and fair tourney while also thanking the donor for investing hugely in the grassroots football.
The body, GRAFTADEAN that organized the event is comprises of seasoned grassroots football managers which includes: Coach Idris Kareem Aloma, the anchor, Brown Dougbene, the LOC Chairman, Akeem Abiodun Lawal Udi, President of the body and also with 3SC junior side, and Adio Ayodeji, the publicity secretary of the body.
