EXCLUSIVE: OYO GOVT PROPOSES 33 CLUBS IN 33 LGs

Oyo state government through the commissioner for youth and sports, Hon. Seun Fakorede has expressed the state intention to have 33 clubs, each from the 33 local governments in the state.

Shooting Stars of Ibadan and Crown FC of Ogbomoso are the two funded clubs under the state government till date. OyoSportsNews relaibly gathered that some clubs have benefited from previous administrations through some grants but no club has recently received fund from the state government.


Fakorede in a private chat with OyoSportsNews hinted that before year 2023, the state government under Engr. Seyi Makinde will officially approve the proposal and will take full responsibility of the 33 clubs.



"We are planning to have 33 clubs in all 33 local governments in Oyo state and from there to a region like oke Ogun United, Ibarapa United. The stadia we are constructing will be useful for this plan. The one in Saki is phase one, we shall extend it to other areas in Oke Ogun. The state government will be responsible for the clubs." He said.
