Ilaji FC coach, Babatunde Odubola popularly called 'Ziko' believes his side inexperience cost them against Shooting Stars in Monday's Semi Final match of Gov Seyi Makinde Pre-season Tournament.

Goals from Adeleke Abiodun, Ogungbayi Boluwatife and Adeyemi Salem gave Ilaji FC a deserved 3-1 lead as at 58 minutes before shooting stars forward, Akilu Mohammed got a brace at the 66th and 98th minutes at the regulation time. Shooting Stars went ahead to win the match 4-2 on penalty shoot-out.

Speaking to OyoSportsNews after the match, Ziko believed his boys played very well and deserved to be at the final but error and inexperience cost his boys.

"As I said, we came here to enjoy ourselves, learn more about football and know our weaknesses. You asked if we were robbed? we were not robbed at all, that is football, error leads to goals, that was what happened in the match. If we had scale through that last minute, we would have been in the final."

The former Shooting Stars Coach and player also spoke on Shooting Stars preparation and assessment after the match; "They are a good side, they have good players and with what I see today, they will surely do better when the season start. All they need from us is prayers and support."
