MUBARAK GANIYU CRASHES OUT IN ZBNG MASTERS

Oyo state number one tennis player in U-14 category, Mubarak Ganiyu crashed out of the Zenith Bank Next Generation Masters Thursday when he lost two of three group stage games.


Recall that Ganiyu Mubarak, 14, was specially invited by International Tennis Academy after his recent performance at various championship in the country and was grouped along his seniors of U-18 and U-21 tennis player in Nigeria.


Mubarak Ganiyu could not make it to semi-final after losing 7-9 to Daniel Adeleye from Ekiti state in the first game. He defeated Lagos state tennis player John Peter Oche 9-6 but lost the final game against UK/Nigeria rated player Mukhtar Andu 5-8.

Speaking to OyoSportsNews, Head Tennis Coach of the Oyo State Sports Council, Ganiyu Tirimisiyu said he's impressed with Mubarak's performance. He added that the group was the toughest in the tournament.


OyoSportsNews also gathered that Mubarak will be in Ogun state next week for another tennis championship to round off the year.
