PRE-SEASON ROUND-UP

Shooting Stars may have concluded thier preparations ahead of the December 17 kick-off of the Nigeria Professional Football 2021/22 season after 4-0 win over Rovers FC of Ibadan at the Ibadan Football Association League fixture.

During the pre-season period, Shooting Stars took part in the three Pre-season Tournaments. (1) Dapo Abiodun, (2) Gold Cup and (3) GSM. There were at the finals of these tournaments but only won one out of three. The team lost to Remo stars and Kwara united at Ijebu ode and Ikenne respectively.

Shooting Stars also, during their preparations played about six matches at the IFA league and some friendlies against Smart FC, and in Lagos state against Sunshine Stars.

With less than a week to the start of the league, OyoSportsNews believed shooting stars may have ended thier pre-season session and get set for the new season.

UNVEILING OF PLAYERS

By now, Shooting Stars should have completed and registered new and old players with the Nigeria Professional Football League as directed by the League Management Company. Fans and supporters hope to see names, pictures, faces, Jersey numbers and also hear/read words from the head coach. We hope this can be done within the shortest time.

SPONSORSHIP

With the new look of Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan. Sponsors from private industries/companies should have put pen to papers with the club management. Things we expect to see are stadium branding, names of company/product/logo on shooting stars jersey. Dubic and Nairabet contract have expired without renewal, we need them back with improved contract details or new sponsors.

"It is weird but people don't know sponsorship is about putting your name and reputation on the line for someone else".

IGR FOR STATE GOVT

During the time Shooting Stars had Gbolahan Salami, Philip Asuquo, David Amanyi, Musa Raphael and many other stars including the duo of Hakeem Busari and Tunde Odubola as the head Coach. OyoSportsNews can confirm that the club generated at least #750,000.000 in a league match. This was a laudable achievement, a reasonable internal generated revenue to reckon with. The club should move beyond the traditional way. I mean gate takings. Shooting Stars must think and act beyond ticketing. What about a branded Shooting Stars Table Water, branded Wrist Rubber Hand Band, Face Cap, Muffler, baby toys, phone jacket, key holder, mugs ? etc.

The maintenance of Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan is very key. The pitch, rest and dressing rooms, spectators seats, media gallery, press seats must be treated neatly. I charge the Oyo Sports Council, Oyo State Football Association, Ministry for youth and sports, and shooting stars management to all do the needful. I would not like to write further, the present situation of the pitch needs urgent attention. Mr Governor, PLEASE, we need your quick attention.

No one is bigger than shooting stars, I repeat - no one. Shooting Stars are no small club in the world. "A word is enough for the wise."
