Chief coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Edith Olumide Agoye, believes his team has prepared well enough to post a superlative performance in the 2021/22 season of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Speaking ahead of the new season, which is slated to commence next weekend, the former Ila FC and Gateway FC gaffer, declared that his team was ready for hostilities in the topflight.

"We thank God for how far he has helped us in our build up to the season. We played three different pre season tournamnet and we got to the finals of all the tournaments.

" Unfortunately, we lost in two finals but won one. Nevertheless, we have been able to take positives from those tournaments which is the basic essence of participating in them.

"With what we have on ground now, I believe we are set for the league campaign which we have been waiting for and the players are very excited that the season is about to get underway", said Esin, as the ex Shooting Stars forward is fondly called.

On the target before the club, the ex international revealed that the team, will definitely aim at winning the league shield, with the least achievement expected, being a continental ticket, not to fight for survival from relegation like in the past seasons.

"Going for the league title is our target but grabbing a continental slot at the end of the seaspn, is not an impossibility," added Agoye, who appreciated the support of the state governor, Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde and that of the entire supporters and fans of the Oluyole Warriors.

On what to expect when the team files out against Gombe United in far away Gombe next Saturday, the 3SC chief tactician, assured of a descent result from his team.
