IFA CHAIRMAN COMMENDS MAKINDE ON DIMEJI LAWAL'S APPOINTMENT, PROVIDES BUSES AHEAD REMO STARS

Ibadan Football Association (IFA) chairman, Barrister Rotimi Alli has commended the Oyo State governor, Engr Seyi Makinde on the appointment of former Nigeria international Dimeji Lawal as Shooting Stars Acting General Manager.

Governor Makinde this afternoon, announced Dimeji Lawal, a former Julius Berger, Real Madrid B, Kortrijk and Hellenic player, as the new general manager [acting] of the Oluyole Warriors.


IFA chairman, Barrister Rotimi Alli in a telephone interview with OyoSportsNews commmended the appointment made by the state governor.

"As you rightly said, I was close to the late Rasheed Balogun (of the blessed memory) and also to Dimeji Lawal and not forgetting shooting stars at large. The appointment made by the gov Makinde is very good. I'm happy with this announcement. Dimeji Lawal is a good friend, we talk time to time and I can tell you his experience will take this club to greater heights."



Shooting Stars will on Sunday travel to Ikenne for NPFL MD 11 fixture and Alli is optimistic 3SC can pick another point(s) away from home.

"Remo stars are unbeaten in the league this season but they've also dropped points at home. They drew to Rivers United recently and nothing is impossible. Shooting Stars have picked nine points in their last three matches and I see them getting good results on Sunday."

Yesterday, just after shooting stars won 4-0 over visiting Heartland FC, announcement were made that free transportation has been provided by Barrister Rotimi Alli for interested fans willing to watch and support the Oluyole soccer lords at Ikenne.

Asked what propelled his gestures, Alli replied;

"As a ardent shooting stars fan, I see it as a way to contributing my love and passion for the club. The team didn't start very well and in recent weeks - the players have gelled together with good results. They are 6th on the log and I want it to continue.





So , it's my way of showing support to my darling club."

Recall that the Ibadan Football Association League introduced ideas and innovation since the commencement of the league with individual awards, transparency and fair officiating and Alli has promised to make IFA league one of the best in the state and beyond. He however commemded Coach Idowu Akintola for his brilliant job as the head, technical committee.
