GOV MAKINDE INCREASES 3SC MONTHLY GRANT, APPOINTS DIMEJI LAWAL AS ACTING GM

As earlier promised by the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde that Shooting Stars will not lack fund at ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League season, the governor today fulfilled his promises by increasing monthly subvention of the Oluyole Warriors. This was announced this afternoon at the executive chamber office of the state governor.

Also, Gov. Makinde has appointed former Shooting Stars and Nigeria international Dimeji Lawal as the acting general manager for Shooting Stars.


This is coming 15 days after the death of former general manager, Rasheed Shodiya Balogun [who died January 20th, 2022] and Lawal is to oversee the affairs of the Oluyole Warriors pending final announcement or confirmation is made.


Before now, [as of yesterday's match against Heartland] Dimeji Lawal was Shooting Stars Team Manager and part of the technical crew that secured promotion ticket for the Ibadan based club last year September.

Mohammed Oladimeji Lawal (born 24 July 1971) is a former Nigerian footballer who played as a midfielder for clubs in Nigeria, Spain and Belgium. According to Google Wikipedia, He is a FIFA-licensed players' agent.


Lawal played for Nigeria in the 1987 FIFA U-16 World Championship in Canada and the 1989 FIFA World Youth Championship in Saudi Arabia. He made several appearances for the senior Nigeria national football team and scored on his debut, an 1992 African Nations Cup qualifier against Togo in 1990.

The announcement of the former Julius Berger, Real Madrid B, Kortrijk and Hellenic player is with immediate effect and his first league match is against Remo Stars on Sunday.


The governor also seized the opportunity to unveil shooting stars new players. The players are Sunday Faleye who returned to 3SC on loan Czech Republic, Ex- Katsina united skipper Acreche Sunday and Niyi Adekunle also from Katsina united.
