DIMEJI LAWAL RESPONDS TO 3SC TRANSFER RUMOURS

By Oluseyi Adedire

Shooting Stars Team Manager Dimeji Lawal has break silence on report claimed that the club is presently having hanky-panky transfer deals ahead of the Nigeria Professional Football League campaign.

There have been speculations, rumours and accusations on social media and some radio stations that the club management had sold players and are currently recruiting players who are yet to be made known to the public.

The former Nigeria international also shed light on  shooting stars preparation, players on trials, and thier ambition ahead of the new football season. He also debunked reports that claimed the management had allegedly pocketed funds made through players' transfers.

"I think this gathering is how to move forward, we're here today to put a lot of things straight, I will be direct but not personal, in all; I will be professional about it. Many people have criticized us that we've been unable to unveil".

What is unveiling in football? He asked.  "It is a ceremonial way of presenting your players. How do you unveil players that you are experimenting in different tournaments, players you are looking at if they could be fit for the next project?"

"As I speak to you today, two players have been dropped because we want to know if these players are perfect for the next journey from NNL to NPFL. We had to let them go. Honestly it is unfair the way the media criticize our activities wrongly."

He continued; "Talking about contracts, most of these players we used at the NNL; we got them through....hmmm, how do I put?  They were through 'man know man'  Coaches come with players and leave with that set of players, we can't buy them because we don't money"

"We must be honest and sincere with ourselves; when people talk football on radio, I laugh.  You can Google Arsenal, Man Utd but it quite different in you immediate environment. I have been talking to a player for weeks now,  come and play for shooting stars I will offer you this but he said he has been offered #1.2 million monthly"

He begins to ask questions politely; " Are we in that category? can we compete for that player? can we rob shoulders with these clubs? we need to look inward and readjust so many things. if you are friends of shooting stars, let's work together to move the club forward."

He however told OyoSportsNews that the coaching crew will not disappoint numerous fans and supporters both home and abroad.

"We can't afford to fail, we won't disappoint all our fans and supporters." He concluded

  1. People should be aware of the fact that not all.players can be bought, there would be those who wants to play and those who doesn't....if clubs refuses to buy, it is because they know their capabilities, the media should stop pushing them

  2. Kabongo ,we honestly appreciate your genuine intentions all aimed at making Shooting Stars a formidable side.

But the fact remains that ,a club side of Shooting Stars calibre, should at least, have bonafide players in it's -no matter how"poku lowo e".

Shooting Stars once did it and the results were awesome.
Be this as it may,all we crave for is the sustainability of Shooting Stars in Nigeria's top flight football.
