The hashtag #SackGernotRohrNow has been trending on social, broadcast and print media seconds after the Super Eagles of Nigeria played a 1-1 draw with Cape Verde in a World Cup qualifying fixture at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

Gernot Rohr’s men opened the scoring through Victor Osimhen just one minute into the game but Cape Verde equalized just five minutes later through Stopira.

However, yesterday, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) through their Media Director debunked Gernot Rohr sack news, backing the German that his contract is still valid with the NFF.


OyoSportsNews understood that the Nigeria Football Federation is not bothered about the hashtag #SackGernotRohrNow which has been circulated on social media throughout the week as Eagles fans are planning to protest against the team in their next friendly or competitive match.


Meanwhile, a secured tweet has confirmed Gernot Rohr sacking but no official report from the NFF as at today. 

The tweet reads: " I just spoke the Gernot Rohr as per being relieved of his position and he said yes. I ended our conversation. "Thank you all you have done for our football"


The big question is this, 'between the Nigeria Football Federation and Gernot Rohr, who is deceiving Nigerians?
