The Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) have credited their recent turnaround in form to the blessings and prayers of the newly coronated Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Akanmu Ladoja - Arusa I.
On Sunday at the Southern Delta University pitch in Ozoro, the Oluyole Warriors fought back from a goal down to defeat Warri Wolves 2–1, their second consecutive victory after a shaky start to the season.
Warri Wolves drew first blood in the 53rd minute through Igbunu Evwiehurhoma, but 3SC responded in style. Qamar Adegoke leveled the score before Adam Mustapha sealed the win, capping off a spirited comeback that underlined the team’s renewed resilience.
Club Executive Chairman, Honourable Taiwo Lekan Salami, hailed the victory as a product of divine intervention following the team’s recent courtesy visit to the Olubadan ahead of their last home game against Kun Khalifat FC, a tie they also won 2–1.
“Since our visit to Kabiyesi, there has been a remarkable shift in our fortunes. The prayers of His Imperial Majesty for the team, especially the coach and captain, have clearly worked in our favor. The back-to-back wins are no coincidence,” Salami said.
He dedicated the triumph to Oba Ladoja, eulogizing the monarch for his fatherly support and spiritual guidance, which he believes has inspired a new wave of confidence within the camp.
Salami further praised his players for their determination and unity, noting that their fighting spirit in Ozoro reflected a side rediscovering its identity. “I congratulate the boys for a job well done. This is the Shooting Stars spirit; never giving up, always pushing until the final whistle. We must remain focused, disciplined, and united as the season unfolds,” he added.
With momentum now on their side, the Oluyole Warriors look set to build on this resurgence as they continue their league campaign.
