SNEPCo TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP: OGUNSAKIN BROTHERS BEATEN BY OYO STATE MUBARAK, ONYEKACHI AT THE FINAL

Oyo state teenage tennis players Mubarak Ganiyu and Onyekachi Ogumjiofor have emerged champion at the just concluded SNEPCo Junior Tennis Championship in Port Harcourt.

The championship which began 22nd November came to an end today, 27th November 2021.


Before the final stage, Onyekachi Ogumjiofor beat Isreal Adeusi 9-1 while Ganiyu Mubarak also booked his place in the final by beating Amir Mohammed 9-0.




Mubarak Ganiyu today defeated Seun Ogunsakin from Ekiti state by 9-4 while Onyekachi Ogumjiofor beat Seyi Ogunsakin 9-5 another tennis player from Ekiti State at U-14 and U-12 respectively.

OyoSportsNews in brief chat with the Head Tennis Coach of the Oyo State Sports Council, Ganiyu Tirimisiyu expressed his happiness with the victory his  lads were able achieve at the championship. 

Mubarak Ganiyu, a national champion with over 15 trophies has also represented Nigeria on three occasion at international tournaments while Onyekachi has also won 3 national championship.

AA AZTEC FOOTBALL ACADEMY STORMS PORTUGAL FOR A MONTH SCOUTING PROGRAMME

The delegation made up of 10 players and three officials left the shores of Nigeria via a flight from the international wing of the Muritala Mohammad Airport on Tuesday for Lisbon. Prince Ademola Olawepo Shennowo, President of the fast-growing football academy gave an insight into the programme details.  "The scouting program in Portugal is tagged Club Athlectico Trial and it will run for one month.
