A Shooting Stars UK based fan, Akande Olaniyi Ajorosun has said Oyo state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has silenced the club critics
Olaniyi told OyoSportsNews that the speech made by the governor while presenting the team buses to Shooting Stars and Crown FC managements has finally put an end to social and on-line radio critics.
"Firstly, I'm a registered shooting stars fan during Chief Onigbinde led administration. I've made many efforts to renew my membership but it seems the club is being managed by different people, different government, different board members and unknown supporters group. This has been my worries in the last ten years."
"That aside my brother, I've read posts on social media back home. In fact, it is so unfortunate that those that have benefited from the clubs are behind this downfall. See! let me tell you, the governor has finally shut thier mouths. I listened and watched the video via WhatsApp and BCOS Facebook post. The governor has silenced the club critics.'
"I know the club is facing so many challenges, part of which I'm planning to contribute my quota very soon. I intend to sponsor or brand the stadium soonest. My lawyer is working on it. I can assure u. Gov Makinde's messages were so impressive, he was aware of the challenges facing the clubs and has promised to help even from his pocket. This is highly commendable."
"This is my nineteen years in the UK, we also criticize government and institutions but they are either logical, positive, constructive or factual. Reports I saw online were unfounded, even the Governor said he did not sack the present management despite they were employed by the previous administration."
On his expectations for the new season, he said: "The coaches must deliver, it is a must. They must recruit good players and perform well. They must not disappoint shooting stars fans because the governor is willing and ready to attend to their demands. I pray they don't mess up."
Olaniyi, popularly known as 'Ajorosun' has also called on shooting stars fans and supporters both home and abroad to support the club financially. He emphasized that sports can only develop in a conducive and secured environment, development programs, good political and administrative structure, provision and improvement on sports facilities. He concluded that private and foreign investors will be encouraged to invest in sports.
