Shooting Stars assistant coach Kabiru Alausa bemoaned his side's failure to take their goalscoring opportunities in a 1-0 win against Niger Tornadoes, but says the entire technical crew are working on how the team can improve more on the final third.
The Oluyole Warriors extended thier unbeaten run to three after 2-0 win over Enyimba, goalless result against Sunshine Stars in Akure and the the latest 1-0 over Tornadoes on Sunday evening. Moses Omoduemuke got the only goal for 3SC at the 6th minute, no thanks to Emmanuel Lucky missed chances.
After a 1-0 lead at halftime, Shooting Stars technical crew led by Edith Agoye brought Nafiu Raheem, Taofeek Malomo and Ayo Adejubu in replacement for Uko Anietie, Opeoluwa Olufemi and Emmanuel Lucky at the second half. Malomo's first effort was denied by George Michael while his second hit the upright.
Speaking to OyoSportsNews after the match, Shooting Stars assistant coach Kabiru Alausa bemoaned the team missed chances but blamed it on fatigue.
"Remember I told you we are going to Sunshine Stars to get something and thank God we got something, what really matter is the three points. I think fatigue is responsible for Emmanuel Lucky's performance but the team is working to make him look fresh and back to his scoring form."
"Yes, we had a difficult first half, I think in the last 10 minutes and this also happened at the beginning of second half, we brought in some players to reinforce the attack but we were unlucky to score more. We keep working hard and make sure the team continue to improve." Alausa said.
