Sunshine Stars of Akure gaffer, Emmanuel Deutcsh said his side needed to do better in attack after another blank day damaged their hopes of finishing in the Premier League’s top four on Sunday evening.
For the third time, Sunshine Stars failed to register a goal at home after a goalless draw against Enugu Rangers in thier league opener, 0-1 home defeat to Enyimba and the latest against Shooting Stars as they drew 0-0 at the Akure Sports Complex.
They went into the Shooting Stars game favourites to grab three points after thier last home win against league leaders Rivers United which ended 1-0 but are now down to 8th position with 37points after matchday 26, three points above the Oluyole Warriors.
With another away game still to come against Gombe United next Sunday, the course is not lost but Emmanuel Deutcsh is unhappy with the lack of goals from the attackers.
At the post match interview, Coach Emmanuel Deutcsh gave his honest reactions after the game and his responses touched on the away side's approach and his sides struggle in the attacking phase.
"It was a good game. Game of two Yoruba brothers who know each other very well. Derby are always difficult and for Shooting Stars they came here to defend; you can see they did not leave their half and goal area.
"Goal scoring is the challenge. The strikers are very young and inexperienced. Aguero (Leonard Ugochukwu) who was pushing was taking off through injury. So the work is still in the attack; no problem with the defence and the midfield too was fine."
