The 'Ekerin Olubadan of Ibadanland' High Chief Abiodun Kola Daisi, Nigeria Football Federation 1st Vice-President, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, Oyo state football association chairman Oba James α»dαΊΉnΓran, Oyo state commissioner for youth and sports Seun Fakorede, Chief Festus Onigbinde as well as Nigeria ex internationals, Chief Segun Odegbami (MON), Dr Felix Owolabi (MON), and Barrister Tunde Busari are expected to grace the grand finale of the 84th edition of Ibadan Football Association league billed for Friday, May 20th, 2022.

Other notable Nigerians and football stakeholders expected at the event are Chairman Oyo State Sports Council, Hon. Gbenga Adewusi, general manager mr Gboyega Makinde, Oyo state ministry for ministry youth and sports, football coaches, referees and football lovers.

Chairman, Ibadan Football Association (IFA), Barrister Rotimi Alli in an extensive interview with
OyoSportsNews indicated that the event will feature a match between Shooting Stars and VIA Academy at the Olubadan stadium. Alli further recounted how league has been competitive since matchday one.

"Generally speaking, the league has been very competitive and it lived up to it expectations. Our traditional stadium is under renovation as you know - which made us to use another football pitches in Ibadan. But in terms of quality of the league, it has been very good this year and the standard is high. Shooting Stars had dropped points in three to four matches and we are yet to know the team that will finish second or third on the log."

Rotimi Alli also commended the performance of the players and match officials and revealed reasons behind a hitch free football season.

"Before the commencement of the league, we set up different committees where have disciplinary and referee appointment committee. Officiating has been an issue all over the world but with the referee appointment committee - we've been able to monitor the performances of the referees and anyone with consistent complain, we ensure such referee is dropped and this has really helped us this season."
Alli, however, assured that Olubadan stadium will be ready to host the next edition of IFA league. He's optimistic that the stadium will be in perfect condition to host super eight, Olubadan cup later this year. He extended big appreciation to Oyo state governor, Engr Seyi Makinde for upgrading the stadium.
