Ahead of Sunday night's (today) tie against Nasarawa United, Chief coach of Shooting Stars, Edith Olumide Agoye, says rounding off the first round of the season on a victorious note, is key to the club's overall success in the campaign.
The Ibadan soccer lords, welcome the Lafia based side to the Lekan Salami Stadium, for a matchday 19 fixture, which marks the end of the first stanza of the 2021/22 NPFL season.
Fresh from last Sunday's hard earned 1-0 win over Kano Pillars, the Oluyole Warriors will, surely hope to make the luxury of playing two straight home games count by winning this encounter.
Agoye, while speaking to Shooting Stars Media ahead of the match, said his side will go for the maximum points, so as to further climb up on the ladder and as well put the team in good position, going into the second round, billed to start on April 3.
"Definitely we have to take the three points against Nasarawa United on Sunday, so that we can move up on the table and more importantly, to enable us start the second round on a sound footing."
Still basking in the euphoria of last Sunday's triumph over Kano Pillars, the Oluyole Warriors will aim for another triumphant outing, as they host the Solid Miners, who have not been in good form lately.
Having been held to a 1-1 draw at home by botom placed MFM last Sunday, the coach Bala Nkiyu tutored lads are under serious pressure to perform and this may likely play out against them as they square up against a confident, victory thirsty Shooting Stars.
While the Oluyole Warriors have 23 points from 18 matches, to occupy the 11th spot on the table, Nasarawa United sit on the 13th position with 22 points from the same number of matches, a development that puts the homers in a vantage position for a second straight win.
