The coaching education program, which had by a CAF and NFF instructor, Amb. Henry Abiodun as resource person started on Monday 14th March ended on Tuesday 15th of March where over 80 football coaches gather from all over Nigeria to improve their coaching knowledge.
While stressing the importance of refreshing one’s knowledge, the former Sunshine Gaffer said football coaches are required to have recognised coaching qualifications from the Football Association Football Association, which starts from level 1 and goes all the way up to semi professional and professional levels.
“You could also take a sports degree such as sports science, and to be a good football coach, you need to have good people, communication and leadership skills. You need to be approachable and be able to build relationships with your players. Good organisational skills and attention to detail are also important”, said Henry Abiodun.
Speaking in the same vein, the President of GRAFTADEAN, Coach Lawal Akeem Abiodun, popularly called Coach Udi, who doubles as the head Coach Shooting Stars Under-13 thanked all and sundry that contributed to the successful hosting of the seminar.
“I want to thank the management of Ilaji Sports Resort for being a good supporter of grassroots football and a good partner of GRAFTADEAN, and I must also appreciate Engr Waheed Afolabi, one of the BOT of the Association for his continuous support and fatherly role.
