Shooting Stars gaffer Edith Olumide Agoye has played down fears of a major injury for Uko Aniete by claiming the midfield marshal could return from a muscle strain before the resumption of the Nigeria Professional Football League second round.
With Gafar Olafimihan and Ebenezer Odeyemi already out due to minor knock and toe injury respectively, the last thing Agoye needs is to be without the man who has carried the Oluyole Warriors at the middle and through the final third.
However, when Aniete was removed at the 35th minute for Ayo Adejubu, there were obvious concerns from the fans who wanted to see more of him after he has put 3SC ahead in the 14th minute.
But Agoye insists it is nothing serious and the former Vandrezzer player may return to action after the two weeks break.
"He would be fine, the team medical staff are on him and hopefully by tomorrow morning we will get a better assessment of him. And hopefully, we do everything necessary to make sure he come back on time."
