Shooting Stars top official has said that urgent steps have been taken to beef up security at the Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan on Sunday when the team host former league champion, Kano Pillars at the Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 18. The official told OyoSportsNews that the club management will provide protection for football lovers, fans, supporters, players, officials, journalists and Kano Pillars' contingent including their fans.

The top official gave the assurance at his residence early Thursday morning during his daily roadwork excercise. The official stated that the reports received after Enugu Rangers' 1-1 home draw gave them new strategies and solutions before pillars encounter. He also assured people of their properties.

"Yes, Kano Pillars' match will be played at 7pm as approved by the League Management Company, there is no cause for panic because we've outlined and worked on all areas that needed adjustment and corrections. Based on the reports by security agencies and stakeholders meeting, I can assure everyone present at the stadium of maximum security before, during and after the match."

"Let me also tell you, security men will be at all strategic areas outside the stadium while activities and protocols on the picth and stand's arena shall be observed and strictly monitored."

Shooting Stars host Kano Pillars on Sunday, 7pm at the Lekan Salami stadium Adamasingba Ibadan at the Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 18. The match according to the club media officer, Tosin Omojola will be the second home match for the Oluyole Warriors under floodlight. 
Pillars [21points] are ahead of Shooting Stars [20points] with a point and both teams currently occupied 12th and 13th position respectively.
