Saki United boss Iwalewa Qoseem says his side is more than ready to face Shooting Stars team in search another win at home on Sunday.
The Okere boys are heading into this fixture on a positive note, as they grabbed a crucial triumph against the Ibadan Soccer Lords in the 2022 Oyo State Aiteo Cup semi final.
The reigning Aiteo Cup champions this evening at the OYSADA football pitch held a training session and they are aware of the fact that a win over Shooting Stars will see them at the final of the first edition of Seyi Makinde Football Volunteer Movement against the winner between Crown FC of Ogbomoso and Oyo State Housing Corporation FC holding next Wednesday at LAUTECH football pitch, Ogbomoso.
Speaking with the OyoSportsNews after the training session, Iwalewa Qoseem said that the team is battle-ready to face 3SC at Saki.
“It is the right moment to play Shooting Stars, the spirit is very high, our fans and supporters and the entire people of Saki are eagerly waiting to see Shooting Stars. I see it as a re-match, that’s how it is,” Quoseem said.
“The last time they [Shooting Stars] came here, it ended goalless draw because it was a friendly match; - but this time around, a winner must emerge, knowing fully well that the winner will be at the final to face who win at Ogbomoso."
" We had a good training session and I can boldly say we are battle ready on Sunday. We respect them as the best team in the state but we won't be afraid to face them."
Seyi Makinde Football Volunteer Movement is a four team tournament involving Shooting Stars, Crown FC, Oyo State Housing Corporation FC and Saki United. The tournament is organized by Mr Jide Olugbodi, Chairman Ibadan Football Association (IFA), Barrister Rotimi Alli, Mr Tunde Adejuwon and Richard Adefiranyo
