Crown FC of Ogbomoso Head Coach Anthony Encho says home clash with Oyo State Housing Corporation FC on Wednesday is not about avenging the quarter final shock defeat at the 2022 Oyo state Aiteo cup, but keeping their noses in front in the scrap for a final stage against Shooting Stars.
The Ajilete Warriors have been paired to battle Oyo State Housing Corporation FC at the ongoing Seyi Makinde Football Volunteer Movement which kicked off on Sunday in Saki.
Recall that Anthony Encho's side were booted out by Housing Corporation FC at the quarter final stage through penalty shoot-out after a goalless draw held at the Olubadan stadium, Iyanganku, Ibadan.
The Oyo state flag bearer at the Nigeria National League will be hoping to avoid another defeat from the hands of Coach Musiliu Sanusi 'Ilerika' team at LAUTECH football pitch tomorrow, Wednesday, 19th of October.
Speaking to OyoSportsNews, Anthony Encho believed there no underdogs in football as the minnows have gained confidence to eliminate fears whenever they face bigger opponents.
"The first thing to clarify is that this is really not about revenge. In football, title favourite, champions, big teams have been shocked in many competitions, so it is football. No doubt, we missed many chances when we played them in Ibadan at the state Aiteo cup level but we have put that behind us and we move."
"We resumed on Saturday and many of our relaible legs are out of the state while some have joined NPFL teams but the fact is that we must take our place and be on top. We can't afford another defeat again, not even Infront of our fans at home."
"It's an important game for both teams. We all know a winner must emerge to face Shooting Stars on Sunday, so we are 100percent ready." He concluded.
