Gbenga Ogunbote admitted Shooting Stars' performance in the first half of Sunday's 2-0 win against Crown FC was "so poor" as the Nigeria Professional Football League side had to wait until second half before beating thier local rival from Ogbomoso at the grand finale of Seyi Makinde Football Volunteer Movement organized by Mr Jide Olugbodi, Barrister Rotimi Alli, Mr Tunde Adejuwon and Richard Adefiranye.
The Oluyole Warriors found themselves in stalemate result at halftime with Azeez Akintunde grabbing a second half brace to ensure another pre-season trophy for 3SC.
In his post match interview with OyoSportsNews, Gbenga Ogunbote focused his reactions upon the glut of wasted chances from his side.
"We made some mistakes in the first half, we played well, dominate the game but wasteful infront of goals. At half time, I told them the importance of the match and what could happen if the match ended draw, - anything could happened at the penalty shoot-out, we did some technical corrections and I'm happy we won."
"As I told you before the match, it's a work in progress - we are trying to build a team that everyone would be proud of and the process is going gradually yeilding very well."
'Pre-season is meant to fine-tune the team and this is what we are trying to do."
3SC is also expected to play grade A friendlies before the commencement of the Nigeria Professional Football League 2022/23 season.
