Madiba FC of Lagos shot stopper, Mohammed Tijani has disclosed how delighted he is after winning the Nation-wide League One title on his first full season at the third tier league.Mohammed Tijani, arguably the overall best goalkeeper at the recently concluded Nation-wide League One regular season and Super 8 tournament made 15 appearances at the NLO season with 9 clean sheets. He was the 'Man of the Match' on five different occasion and his brilliant performance and saves gave Madiba FC victory of Beyond Limit FC of Ogun state at the play-off match held at Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
Early this month at the Nation-wide League One Super 8 tournament held at legacy pitch, the 18-year-old goal tender caught the eyes of many football lovers and scouts with four clean sheets in four appearances; threby affirming his status as a very promising lad in Nigeria.
Mohammed Tijani who sees German goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer as his role model ended the season with thirteen clean sheets from a total of twenty matches in a season.
He told OyoSportsNews about the team success and particularly his performance. "I would like to thank our chairperson, Alhaja Adebisi Adeyemi Basirat for his vision, passion for love youth empowerment and engagement. Her financial support for the club throughout the season is loved by the entire teammates, she is such a wonderful football administrator and club owner who want to use football to curb social vices and engage the youth. I also want to commend my coaches for thier experience and success at the NLO. Our dream is to gain promotion and become the best team and we finally achieved it.
However, Mohammed Tijani is evidently unique, and he's not losing hope. He is convinced that persistence and hard work can open international doors for him in the not-too-distant future and Nigeria Flying Eagles U-20 team.
