Saki United Head Coach Iwalewa Qoseem gives his thoughts on his team losing 2-0 against local rivals Shooting Stars.
Talking about latest defeat of theirs, by the hands of the Oluyole Warriors, the 2022 Oyo State Aiteo Cup winner stated:
“I’m not happy that we lost at home to Shooting Stars. We feel sad because we worked to win the game. Of course, we knew it would be a difficult game, but we worked and we did all the things right. But this is football. We are sad because this is our first competitive game at Saki Township stadium since the state governor Engr Seyi Makinde approved it renovation. We conceded two second half goals due to defensive mix-up, so we are sad."
"But looking at our overall performance, I think we did good in the first half with about five chances though we were unable to convert them, if these opportunities were well converted, we would have won convincingly."
Iwalewa Qoseem also told OyoSportsNews what the defeat means to the team;
"Right now, we have to be focused, determined and get ready for Ibadan Football Association (IFA) League and top friendlies. We know our weaknesses and we must work on it."
He however commended the football loving fans of Saki town for their massive supports at the match venue.
"Of course, we have to say thank you to the fans because they helped us a lot. We have to continue this work because we are playing very well. We have to continue because the results will come to us”.
