Crown FC of Ogbomoso Head Coach Anthony Encho believes his side put up a ‘reasonable show’ despite their 2-0 loss to Shooting Stars.
The Ajilete Warriors resumed camp last Saturday for the maiden edition of Seyi Makinde Football Volunteer Movement, a four team tournament involving Shooting Stars, Saki United, Oyo State Housing Corporation FC and Crown FC.
Crown FC last Wednesday booked a place at the final after thrashing Oyo State Housing Corporation FC 4-0 but lost to Shooting Stars yesterday at the final stage held at Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasingba Ibadan.
Azeez Akintunde 'Mikel' helped Shooting Stars to another pre-season trophy infront of Oyo state governor Engr Seyi Makinde and his executive members and Anthony Encho was pleased with the performance of his experimental team.
“The derby cracker was good, the crowd and pitch never affected us and I thought they put up a reasonable show,” he told OyoSportsNews after the game.
“Some of the possession was good. Some of the attacking play at times was good without finishing the game off with one or two opportunities in both halves.
“We resumed last Saturday and I'm very happy and pleased with thier performance, this is an eye opener to get good legs for new season, we are still going to invite more players and recruit best legs for Nigeria National League. We did very well in the first half but lost concentration especially at the back which we conceded two goals. But generally speaking, my players made me proud."
