OBA JAMES ODENIRAN DECLARES OPEN OYO U17 COMPETITION

The maiden edition of 2024 Oba James Odeniran U17 football competition organized by the Grassroots Department Unit of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association, Oyo state chapter has been declared opened the Alakinyele of Akinyele and Chairman, Oyo State Football Association, HRM Oba James Odeniran.
Oba Odeniran described the efforts of grassroots department unit in hosting the maiden competition in spite of biting economic reality, as a very commendable one. He extolled the good virtues of the Oyo state chapter of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association under the chairmanship of Coach Akinola Olatunji.
Twenty-four teams across zones in Oyo state will be participating with Crossville FC losing 0-1 to Mido FC at the opening match held at Olubadan stadium. In the second match, VIA FC trashed Napoli FC by three goals to nothing.
Chairman of the competition, Coach Kabiru thanked screening committee led by Mr Akintunde Olaleye 'Manga' and assisted by Coach Ayodeji Charles Adeyemo, who also doubles at the training officer of the coaches association.
Association Public Relations Officer and Best Talent FC head coach, Coach Yinka Popoola fondly called "Baboni Gullit" thanked all coaches and dignitaries present such as Honourable Gbenga Adewusi 'Arole', member of Ibadan Football Council, Oyo Football Association executive members, association financial secretary, Coach Oloke Wahab, Coach Kazeem Adeleke, and other major stakeholders.
