Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sult De King [SDK] Football Club Mr Kazeem Adedeji said he was “happy and really satisfied” after his side eased past Nation-wide League One side Adamimogo FC in the final of the NLO/Non League clubs pre-season tournament.
SDK were in fine fettle all game as they beat Adamimogo FC 2-1 with a goal in each half by Abimbola Adaramaja, putting the Ibadan based side in a commanding position after a keenly contested first half.
It is the first taste of silverware for Sult De King FC, but speaking after the match with OyoSportsNews, Mr Kazeem Adedeji, popularly known as 'Ojasowo' was keen to not make the trophy all about him.
"I want to give God the glory for the success of the tournament. We started and ended well. The players and the coaches gave their best from the first match and up to the final. I think it's a good idea by the sate FA and also an avenue for club owners to test their boys. It's a pre-season tournament, but every match is important to us at Sult De King Football Club, and I thank God we emerge champions."
"The pre-season tournament is good for our players because we have many programmes ahead, some foreign scouts will be in the country soon, so we wanted to know our strength and areas to work on. Initially, we wanted to register for the Nation-wide League, but to avoid many games and clashes of fixtures with other programmes, may be next season will be better."
"Ojasowo" also spoke on his team's early exit at the just 2024 Oyo State Federation Cup and the improvement in the squad.
"I wasn't disappointed that we crashed out in our first match of the federation cup, that is football. We lose and win. Right now, our boys have improved and fully on ground for any further competitions. My target is to have good team with great talents within and outside Oyo state, I've started already and by next week, I believe the foreign scouts will see good players in my team."
