TENNIS: OYO ATHLETES EMERGE FIRST IN MTN TOURNAMENT

 Two tennis athletes from Oyo State won Gold and Silver medals at the maiden edition of a six days championship tournament held at Lagos tennis club, Onikan Lagos.
The chairman of the Oyo State Sports Council, Ibadan Honourable Gbenga Adewusi "Arole" dropped this hint today at the Lekan Salami Sports complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
He disclosed that Mubarak Ganiyu who emerged first won Gold for the under 16 boys category, he defeated Seun Ogunsakin of Ekiti State with 9/8 points while Onyekachi Ogunjiofor came second with silver medal in the under 14 boys category with 9/6 points.
Hon. Adewusi remarked further that nine players represented the state in various categories ranging from under 10, 12, 14 and 16 (Both boys and girls) at the six days competition which commenced on Monday 20th and terminated on Saturday June 26th, 2022.
The Chairman commended the two tennis champions for their outstanding and exceptional performances stressing that the upcoming athletes should brace up to achieve greater heights in the nearest future
