Ottasolo FC Head Coach Oladunni Oyekale was proud of his players' efforts despite Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Crown FC at the Nigeria National League matchday 17 fixture.
The Lagos based side continued thier away poor run with another defeat after Oginni Olatunbosun grab the only goal via a spot kick at the 64th minute in a keenly contested match. The former Shooting Stars right back has now recorded four goals from fifteen league matches.
At the first 45 minutes, the visitors perfectly executed a good game plan with good defensive tactics and few attacking threats but were unable to conceded goals, thanks to Ottasolo goal tender, Ismaila Isah who denied the homers on several occasion.
"It's a normal game, it's a derby. They were in Lagos, they scored but we won 2-1, but we came here to get something but it didn't work out. My players did very well, I'm satisfied with their performance and spirit, we hope to move on."
One the delay tactics by his team at the first half and why the fans were not too satisfied by his style of play. Oyekale said: "I wonder how you meant by delay tactics. He begins.
"There were contacts and infringements with our goalkeepers on these occasion and the goalkeeper must call medical attention for him to continue the game. I don't understand your point. The point is that I'm very satisfied with my players and performance and hope to improve. The penalty was joke, the ball was to his chest and that was over but the referee decision is final."
Oladunni Oyekale, a former Crown FC head coach and an assistant coach to Ladan Bosso alongside Fatai Amoo, and Baruwa Olatunji Abideen at the recently concluded 2022 WAFU B U20 Championship in Niger Republic said he expects to see a tight match from his opponent but they were jiltery.
"Firstly, this is my home. I feel elated coming and still feel the vibes, - may be someday, you never can tell. Crown FC are doing fine on the log, the only part I see is they were jiltery, they should have played with full confidence and when you play a team down the ladder,- it's always difficult. I commend them.
