NO CONTROVERSY OVER CROWN FC OWNERSHIP - OYO SPORTS BOSS
The controversy surrounding the full ownership of Crown FC of Ogbomoso by the Oyo state government and an individual has been resolved, the Oyo State Government through the Commissioner for youth and sports, Asiwaju Seun Fakorede has declared.
There have been reports on radio sports show, social media, and rumours over the legal ownership of the Ogbomoso based club and Asiwaju Seun Fakorede has cleared the air with legal evidence.
Speaking to OyoSportsNews on Tuesday, the young vibrant commissioner who was recently nominated as the only Nigerian and the only male African shortlisted for the 'One Young World' Awards as Politician of the year holding in Manchester, United Kingdom in September 2022 said there was no longer reason for anybody to doubt the ownership of Crown FC.
"When I came in as the commissioner for youth and sports in 2019, there were many issues on ground but It was actually one of the issue we had to clarify because there were many things sorrounding the legality of the club. So, we make sure all papers, registration and documents concerning to the ownership of the club were resolved. This was done about a year ago."
"For your information." He continues. "The club has been registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission and we have all legal documents which stated the Oyo state government as the legal owner of the club. As we speak today, anyone or group can go to court but the rightful owner of the club is Oyo state government."
Asiwaju Seun Fakorede added that the state government under the leadership of Engr Seyi Makinde will continue to take the right steps in the right directions so as to avoid litigation from any angle.
"We would have ingored the issue because 'he who pays the pipper dictates the tune' but we don't want the effort of this administration to go fruitless and of course, we don't want to fall victim. We've perfected all the documents and things have been don't legally."
He also assured the Kunle Oyeleye led management of Crown FC of Governor Seyi Makinde's continued maximum support in their quest to securing promotional ticket to the Nigeria Professional Football League.
