Usman Abdallah says his players performed brilliantly under a lot of pressure after picking up his first Premier League win as Katsina United Technical Adviser.
The relegation threatened Katsina united are yet to win a single match in thier previous four matches after losing at home to Rivers United on matchday 22 and with their last match inconclusive against Kano Pillars. United produced a solid display to beat Shooting Stars 3-1 at Muhammadu Dikko stadium thanks to a brace from Madaki Alkali Dauda and a late strike by Aliyu Musa.
The 3-1 win over the Oluyole Warriors this evening has moved the Changi boys to 17th on log after dropping ten points in front of their home fans.
Usman Abdallah was full of praise for his players - especially with their second half performance - and hopes the result can spur the side on to more success.
"Seeing the results, it seems the match is very easy but it a difficult match. The whole team is under pressure to make sure that we have to get the first win and to get out of the relegation zone; so, it a lot of hard work and I'm happy with thier performance and they show a lot of courage. It was a nice game, most importantly, the three point we've got the three points."
Usman Abdallah has previously served as Chief/Head Coach of Enyimba, Technical Adviser at Junior Kano Pillars, FC Toulon France, FC Se’te France, FC Frontignan France, Ballene FC France and Jollilad FC of Singapore, among other clubs.
Abdallah has won the NPFL title in 2019 and was CAF Confederation Cup semi-finalist in 2018 and a runner-up in the Bangladesh Premier League as Coach/Player.
