Former Nigeria international and Enyimba FC head coach Finidi George accepted that his team’s performance was below par especially in their final third and that Shooting Stars game plan worked out well at the first half.
The People's Elephants lost 2-0 to the Oluyole Warriors at the Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 25 thanks to first half two goals from Omoduemuke Moses 12th minute finish and Emmanuel Lucky 40th strike.
After losing to 3-1 to Katsina United last Wednesday, the Oluyole Soccer Lords bounced back winning ways with a vital win over former Nigeria league and CAF champion winner Enyimba of Aba.
Finidi George with sports journalists at the post match conference expressed his feelings after his boys failed to convert scoring chances at the first half.
"It is very sad to lose, it's a game where I think we should score goals, we had some opportunities in the first half, even in the second half but we didn't take it. I think the game was lost in the first half, in the first 25minute.
They scored two goals, we didn't take our opportunities and see how the second half went, there were delaying tactics and the tempo of the game dropped. If we defend well in the first half, we would have taken something home."
Finidi George also believe Enyimba can still do the unthinkable after matchday 25 at the ongoing campaign.
"Last week, we won 4-0, today - we lost 2-0, we have to get back as soon as possible and win our next game." He concluded.
