CROWN FC SECURE PIVOTAL 2-0 WIN AGAINST GO ROUND, AS TAMUNO IYALLA COMMENDS MGMT OVER PITCH MAINTENANCE

Crown FC secured a pivotal 2-0 win against Go Round in the Nigeria National League on Sunday evening at the LAUTECH football pitch to keep their hopes of securing a promotion ticket to the NPFL alive.

The Anthony Encho side went into the game without a win in the last two away matches, having lost 3-1 to Abia Comets at Umuahia township stadium and 2-1 to Rovers FC at Ikom township stadium. 

The Ajilete Warriors headed into the game in desperate need of a victory after being placed 7th position on the NNL B2 standings. Oginni Olatunbosun fired the Ajilete Warriors into a lead in the 12th minute from the spot after a clear handball in the box. Efforts made by Go Round to get an equalizer in the first half were fruitless as Adejare Sunday denied the visitors.

Oba Karatu sealed the win for Crown FC with a superb finish in the box at the 75th minute after connecting well to Meshack Dennis' master pass.

Speaking to newsmen after the match, Crown FC gaffer, Anthony Encho believed the match lived to it billing having played against the league table-toppers.

"It was a difficult first half, the first half was very tight but we took over the second half and my boys came out with a fighting spirit. We dominate the game and create more chances."

Reacting to the performance of his players which almost caused upset after the early lead in the 12th minute. Encho promised to work on recovery level of his players starting from next away match in Lagos against Ottasolo.

Meanwhile, Go Round Assistant Coach Abiye Tamuno Iyalla has commended the management of Crown FC of Ogbomoso over the new look of LAUTECH football pitch. He said he was impressed with what he saw at the pitch, asserting that it is 100 per cent better off than some football pitches in the league.

"When you stay from a far, you start judging but with what I saw yesterday during our training session and what I saw this evening, the pitch is not bad. The pitch is commendable. It is better, in fact, twenty times better than Apex Krane football pitch."
